Where Clay stands

Schools exist to teach. I support clear standards, strong reading and math foundations, and honest grade-level expectations — Pre-K through 12. Curriculum decisions should be transparent to families and focused on what helps students learn, not on trends that pull classrooms off mission.

Students with disabilities deserve more than compliance checklists — they deserve services that work. I’ll push for honest staffing, family partnership, and accountability so IEPs and supports are delivered with care, not delayed by paperwork.

Every student and staff member deserves a safe place to learn and work. I’ll back practical safety measures, clear discipline that is fair and consistently applied, and policies that protect classrooms without turning schools into something they shouldn’t be.

Parents are partners, not obstacles. Families deserve timely information, a real voice in their child’s education, and respect when they ask hard questions. Trust between home and campus is how strong schools stay strong.

Public money is trust. Budgets should be transparent, spending should be practical, and classroom needs should beat bureaucracy. I’ll ask for results, not just line items — and I’ll vote for stewardship that serves kids in District 7.

Tech should help teaching, not replace it. Devices and software earn their place when they improve learning and are used wisely — including age-appropriate limits, teacher training, and spending that doesn’t chase every new gadget.

Sports, arts, clubs, and career programs build belonging and character. They matter for the whole child — as long as academics stay central. I’ll support programs that keep students engaged and give more kids a reason to show up and finish strong.
